Stepan Yesayan

Abstract

The distinguished archaeologist Stepan Yesayan had a major impact on the development of Armenian archaeology. He is one of the few archaeologists who was able to publish the results of all his excavations during his lifetime. In addition, he also worked on several diverse cultural and artistic topics related to ancient Armenia. His works are characterised by his exemplary talent for writing descriptions, characterised by his systematised approach. Further comment is unnecessary – S. Yesayan’s style gives his works a lasting value and many of them will remain essential coffee-table books for generations.
