Abstract

The primary requirement in the projects of museification is the establishment of a museum-tourism cluster. It enables the development of a system to incorporate into a single unity of the museum, archaeological objects, the landscape, reconstructions of some fields of the life of ancient societies, as well as food and recreation industries. Another important requirement is the existence of a developed road network nearby the sites that are to be museified. Taking into account the specificities of urban development registered by the excavation, this contribution offers a projection of such an infrastructure for Artashat, the Antique period capital of Armenia. Open and closed museum zones are proposed for Artashat, taking into account the modern approaches in Museum Studies.
